SIBUR is actively developing its expertise in the areas of supply chain management, including such areas as inventory management, transportation of goods, warehousing and all associated business processes.
The company is focused on optimising inventory levels for raw materials and finished products, reducing the time for manufacturing products, increasing the transparency and predictability of logistics operations, and raising quality of service to new levels. SIBUR continues to develop its Supply Chain Management model, in which logistics is closely connected with other key managerial competencies, such as marketing, sales, and strategy, and also involves interaction with customers, demand planning, inventory management for raw materials and finished products, and planning for stock, raw materials and other material requirements.
Rail freight transportation is overseen by the company’s subsidiary SIBUR-Trans, which owns approximately 6,000 units of rolling stock and operates more than 19,000 units.
Sea transportation is carried through ports in Hamina (Finland), Odessa (Ukraine), Ilyichevsk (Ukraine), Riga (Latvia), St.Petersburg (Russia), Nakhodka (Russia), Vladivostok (Russia), as well as through the transshipment facility in the commercial seaport of Ust-Luga, operated by SIBUR. It's capacity is 2.4 million tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and 2.8 million tons of light petroleum products annually.
